Janèt Sullivan Whitaker

Borrowing from the street-samba tradition of carnaval, from reggae, gospel and jazz, Janèt Sullivan Whitaker writes high-energy music with an international flavor. Currently serving as full-time director of music and liturgy at Corpus Christi Church in Piedmont, California, Janèt is a talented cantor, keyboardist and percussionist. She has presented workshops in San Francisco and San Jose, and was director of music for the Diocese of Oakland’s Jubilee 2000 Eucharistic Liturgy, celebrated at the Oakland Coliseum Arena. She lives in Hayward, California, with her husband and son.
