Jackie Francois | Biography
Jackie François is a singer, songwriter, guitarist, speaker and youth minister from Placentia, Calif. For 22 years Jackie attended St. Joseph Catholic Church of Placentia, Calif. Through retreats, youth conferences, and World Youth Day 2000 in Rome, Jackie experienced Jesus in a deeper way.
It wasn’t until after senior year of high school during her experience as a Young Apostle at Steubenville West in 2002 that she fell in love with the Eucharist and the Catholic Church, started going to daily Mass, and began learning more about her faith. In college, she served as the Cal State Fullerton Newman Catholic Club President and a volunteer youth minister and musician. In July 2006 she moved to Ventura, Calif., to be the full-time youth minister at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church.
Coming from a musical family, she has been singing nearly her whole life and learned music theory at a young age. Jackie learned how to play the violin and performed in many musicals. During her senior year of high school, she taught herself how to play guitar, which led to the beginning of her songwriting.
In June 2003, spiritandsong.com recording artist Tom Booth got heard Jackie’s two-track CD and instantly recognized her talent. The Booth family mentored her both spiritually and musically and invited Jackie to sing at major faith events with audiences as large as 5,000 people.
In March 2006, Jackie recorded a 12-track demo at Tom Booth’s recording studio in Arizona. In August 2006, Jackie learned that her song, “My Soul Rejoices,” would be published in Never Too Young, the first Catholic music resource for middle school students. In July 2007, Jackie moved back to Placentia to begin full-time music ministry, serving the wider Catholic Church.
She is currently a host for spiritandsong.com’s webcast, “The Commons,” and for spiritandsong.com’s Perfect Playlist Podcasts. Jackie’s debut album, Your Kingdom Is Glorious, was released through spiritandsong.com in 2008.
