What an incredible 5 days of travel! It was kind-of Steve Martin/John Candy-land to me (Planes Trains and Automobiles); Nashville to Denver to Bismarck to Hazen to Bismarck to Denver to Jackson Hole to Denver (boy do I love Denver!) to Las Vegas to Mesquite to Las Vegas to Nashville. Whew! Travel does wear a body out, I confess. But I always meet some amazing folks all along the way.
Thursday I was in Hazen, North Dakota, home of the North Dakota roach. ;) (a.k.a. the super-bug, Box E...

The food, not the rocker...
I made a meatloaf last night.
Now, before I begin, let me say that dinner around here is a joke. I have my hubby who dislikes all fruits and veggies, myself who has been on Weight Watchers these two years now (so I don't eat anything real anymore), my three year old who will eat anything (including boogers, when necessary), and my six year old, who will only eat bread and sugar. Dinner is usually a disaster; by the time it's over, I've eaten a salad, ...

There are lots of things I hate in this world.
Yeah, hate is a strong word, I know.
Flies, for example. What's the point? HATE em.
Guns. HATE 'em. Know they are important, hunters use them, they protect personal freedom, etc. etc. etc. Still...hate 'em.
Things breaking. Like my stove, this week. I'm no gourmet anyhow, and boy does THAT make my "cooking" all that much more enjoyable for my poor family. HATE that.
Technology. Getting to the point where I HATE ...

Tonight my family and I went to a memorial service like none I had ever attended...it was really lovely. Sweet, just about 25 to 30 friends, set in a pretty little garden in Franklin, TN. A service in honor of the baby of dear friends, a girl, whom they named Abigail Hope. My girlfriend miscarried their little baby when she was thirteen weeks along. And the grief is very real.
I know it's really not that popular of a topic in the religious community...which seems so funny. We will rall...

Though you wouldn't really know summer was coming to a close...the heat index is 102 in Nashvegas today, and our power has flickered on and off every day for the past three weeks. Still, that debit card I abused yesterday in a mad rush to buy shoes, clothes, and school supplies for my kids, all while taking advantage of the "Tax Free Tennessee" weekend, tells me that, alas, summer's end is nearing. Addie starts Monday the 14th of August! Sheesh, it goes fast. We have spent the bett...

This blog may lose me some friends. But I hope not. :)
I (*gulp*) read "The DaVinci Code".
First, I just feel like I should put down what the title information page says, just in case you haven't heard of it.
© 2003 by Dan Brown.
ISBN-10: 1-4000-7917-9.
FICTION.
Sarah's opinion: In some instances, really well researched. Pretty poorly written, though the story itself made for a page-turning read.
FICTION.
Yes, I can see why it is a con...

March 25…lovely Milford, Ohio, at St. Andrew’s Parish. What an AMAZING weekend! Father Rob and Dovile, especially, thanks beyond for the beautiful experience. You have such an amazing community. The Daughters Day of Reflection was so incredible…it was, as always, a retreat for me, too! It was such a treat to get to finally sing “There Will Be Bread” with the congregation it was written for…and the concert…well, Bobby Fisher is so...

This morning I gave an interview with a newspaper, and in trying to explain to my five year old exactly what that meant, I decided the best way to explain was to give her one. So here is Addie's "Interview On God". I didn't correct her on anything at all...I just wanted to hear her thoughts...I figure she's seen God more recently than I have, so who am I to argue? :)
("A" is Addie and...
