Hello 2006!

Happy New Year!
I hope this message finds you all doing well. This year has already been filled with many blessings. I spent the holidays with my family from Birmingham to Dallas. My wife and I drove 23 hours to get to my family in Birmingham for Christmas. We made a pit stop in Baton Rouge for my good buddy, Cooper Ray's (diocesan youth director of Baton Rouge) wedding, then rounded out the trip to Dallas to see my wife's family. All 19 grandchildren, and 7 brothers and sister....whew!...

NCYC...WOW!

What an amazing time I had being the emcee of the National Catholic Youth Conference in Atlanta! Watching 18,000 young people praying/singing, "Here I am to Worship" at the top of their lungs!! I can't tell you how that ministered to me! I was seeing the face of God in all those faithful, beautiful faces. If you get the chance, email the NCYC office and thank them for putting on such an amazing, spirit filled conference!

I'll have some pictures for you soon! Keep checkin back. I wante...

ok...so I wasn't done yet!

Okay, so I wasn’t done yet. Now I’m home I can think a little more clearly! I’m very blessed to travel most every weekend and I love being able to share my gift’s with people in a way that Glorifies God. My Wyoming trip was extra special cause I brought my two oldest kids, Julia (14), and Josh (10.5). The (.5) is very important. I love having them with me. Even though they can act pretty unimpressed by me, they always manage to be sitting on the front row cheering me on J It’s alway...

From Casper, Wyoming to NCYC (thnx to Josh and Brittny)

Wow! What an awesome week I just had. I spent last weekend in Casper, Wyoming at the Diocesan youth conference for Cheyenne, Wyoming. It was just amazing! My second keynote of the weekend was with an artist whose first name is Devin (and I’m on the road away from my computer and I can’t remember his last name!). Devin is from Colorado (like me) and is overwhelmingly talented. While I sang and told a few stories about what it means to give God’s love away with "No Strings Attached" (the ...

NCYC here we come!

I'm getting pumped about NCYC. There's just something cool/powerful/fun/holy/awesome that happens when 20,000 Catholic teens show up in one place! My family parents live in Alabama and they've never seen me do anything for that big a crowd so that should be fun. AND!!! My newest CD just came out. Even though I've done this for a while, I still want to jump on the bed and yell when one actually comes in the mail. You can hear clips on this site. I'm excited to have it out! Hey, this new Spirit...

What happened to lent?!

I can't believe it's almost Easter! How did that happen? I had all these good intentions for lent and I think I missed it. Well... I went to confession on Saturday and the priest asked me 'what is lent all about?' And I said making my heart ready for Easter. 'What does that mean?' He asked. I said realizing what God means in my life and living like I know it. Then he said, 'Well, if you have to, you can do that in a lot less than 40 days' ;-) So... here's to a solid 14 days of lent.

A...

I Live! or postNCYC part 1

Hello world! It's been a while since an update. I have, however, kept a little journal in my laptop so here's what's been going on with me. I'll call this post NCYC part one!

It's 2 weeks after NCYC and I'm sitting in Atlanta in the middle of the East Coast's worst snowstorm in years. I'm not in the snowstorm mind you but my concert is!! I'm supposed to be going to the Youth Conference for New York City but it's not looking so good!

Update: No luck getting in tonight. I have to ...
