Walk On with Jesus

by Mark Friedman, Janet Vogt

Lyrics

1. The road leads from fear
through our unraveled lives.
When the cross looms above us,
our hoping survives.
As the voice of the stranger
we meet on the way
compels us and tells us
how his love won the day.

2. Do you fathom the meaning
of the stories you’ve heard?
Have you opened your hearts
so to welcome my word?
The one who was promised
had to carry the cross
so the world would know triumph
out of suff’ring and loss.

Refrain
And we walk on with Jesus
with a living faith,
with a faith that is bold,
with a faith that bears fruit
as the story we share is retold.
And we walk on with Jesus.

3. In the midst of our journey,
when we most crave a rest,
when our hunger is greatest,
with our spirits distressed,
we beg him to join us
at the table we share;
in the stranger we welcome,
find a new way to care.
(to Refrain and Bridge)

Bridge
The act of our sharing,
the bread that we break,
helps our hopes to rekindle,
lets the fire awake.
And our hearts burn within us.
We know it’s the Lord.
He has nourished our faith
and our spirits restored,
nourished our faith and our spirits restored,
nourished our faith and our spirits restored,
nourished our faith and our spirits restored.
