1. Come, let us go before God,
Our hope, our help, our light,
Who yearns to see us coming
And greets us with delight.
No father could await us
With love so deep and strong
As this, our Source and Summit,
For whom our spirits long.
2. How can God fail to hear us,
Who wove our flesh and bone
From river mud and Spirit,
Our breath, God's very own?
Beloved, lost, forgiven,
Won back in blood and tears,
We cannot doubt or fathom
The love each heartbeat hears.
3. Then never let us tremble
Before that holy face
Whose light in blessing bathes us
In ev'ry time and place.
But lay with all reliance
Our needs within those hands
That cup our prayers like diamonds

Before the throne of grace
Where mercy flows like water

God opens at our knocking
