It's no ordinary song! This song could be for Christmas, Easter, Pentecost or just any day you wake up. The surge of the Holy Spirit moves throughout this song!

Lyrics

I wake up so early in the morning
I yawn and wipe the sleep from my eyes
I wake to see the brand new day is dawning
Filled up with new graces from on high

Hope floats on the winds of the morning
Birds singin' for a God who does provide
Song rise beneath the wings of eagles
My heart leaps for it's great to be alive.

Hallelujah we lift our hands to heaven
Hallelujah let your praises fill the sky
Hallelujah each day a new adventure
Hallelujah oh Lord be glorified
It's no ordinary day.

The sun is rising on eastern horizons
My heart leaps as my feet hit the ground
I'm burstin' out with your spirit in excitement
What was lost in your mercy has been found.

The trees are swaying to the rhythm of redemption
And simple melodies with a beauty so profound
Let all the world join with the choirs of angels
In perfect harmony let creation now resound.

I lift my voice to sing a song of praise
one deep breath and Lord I'm calling out your name.
With your love, Lord, I'll never be the same!

Artist Reflection

Have you ever had one of those days where you can't wait to get out of bed? I've had plenty of normal days over the years so mornings like this one I remember.

I had been training for a triathlon, working a full time job, and playing in a pop band four nights a week. I was in the 15th month of getting over this girl who I thought I was going to marry, and I just saw her a few days earlier. We had an adoration time and I just started strumming my guitar and spontaneously singing. Something was welling up inside me... "Hallelujah, let your praise fill the sky! Hallelujah, God, O Lord be glorified..." I think we just praised God with that for about five minutes. Afterward, a bunch of people asked me what that song was. I made a mental note to revisit it later.

The next day, my birthday, I woke up early [5am] for my triathlon training. I was so thrilled and felt that something good was going to happen. As we rode our bikes the birds were singing, the sky was blue, the flowers were in bloom — it was like a Disney cartoon! On the way back I always sing a song in my head, to keep my rhythm, and the verses of the adoration song just kept pouring out. Anyway, life was great. During adoration, God began something in me that has really changed my life. It truly was No Ordinary Day! When God intervenes in your life, just expect the unexpected.
