Lyrics

Refrain
Praise the Lord with all your heart,
with all your mind and soul;
with all your strength give praise.
Praise the Lord with all your heart,
with all your mind and soul;
with all your strength give praise.
1. The God of Jacob keeps faith forever,
His love endures for all generations.
Let us praise his holy name, for he is God.
Let us praise his holy name, for he is God.
2. The God of justice raises the lowly.
He gives freedom to the oppressed.
Let us praise his holy name, for he is God.
Let us praise his holy name, for he is God.
Bridge
Let us praise his holy name, for he is God.
Let us praise his holy name, for he is God.
Let us praise his holy name, for he is God.
Let us praise his holy name, for he is God.

Artist Reflection

When I was recording my last CD, Innocence, I went through the painstaking process of narrowing down the songs that I wanted to record. At the end of the process I discovered that I was one song short! I needed ten songs and I only had nine. This meant that I needed to record one of the ones I already cut or I needed to write something new.

There is a rule when recording a CD that states that you should never write in the studio. This is because studio time is very expensive and the studio musicians don't want to wait around for you to be inspired.

One night after a long day of recording, I was going over the plan with my producer Jeff Thomas and he said we needed to finalize the list. I told him I still didn't feel like we had a tenth song. We sat down and looked over the options again. Jeff agreed the other songs were not good choices for this CD. I told Jeff I had a song that I had written for church the week before that might work if we tweaked it a little. I played the song for him and we both agreed the verses were good but the chorus was weak.

Jeff and I began to play around with some ideas, and about an hour later, we had the tenth song! We recorded the next day and it became the first song on the CD, "With All Your Strength." Praise God for last minute inspiration and for brotherly collaboration!
