With the change in your pocket you could change the world. With the change in your pocket you could change the world.
There are millions dying down in Africa from a disease that we want no part of. Sweet little babies with no ma and pa.
So, we must help these babies to grow straight and tall, and we say, "It is my intent to heed that call. I'll address it the minute that I'm back from the mall."
Well, a buck-and-a-quarter buys a cuppa joe, and I'm sure I'd enjoy it, but in Ecuador, that same buck-and-a-quarter feeds a family of four.
Nobody here deserves this fate. Nobody here can afford to wait. 'Cause if we can't be loving, how can we be saved?
Some women are dying as they're giving birth. Some throats are so parched they cannot speak a word. Can it be there're still some of us who haven't heard?
I wanted a song to show our support for Mercy Corps. I enjoyed the song, and there are lots of celebrity types on the record:
Jerry Marotta: drums (Paul McCartney, Elvis Costello, Sara McLaughlin . . .)
Tony Levin: bass (John Lennon, Peter Gabriel . . .)
Vocals by: Kathy Mattea, Pat Boone and John Sebastian (Lovin Spoonful)
We hope you like it. The song is a bit repetitive and slow for us, but it was a sincere effort for an extremely worthy cause.
