This song creates that special feeling you get every Sunday when we worship together.

Bold, clearly Christian message; not afraid to speak the truth

Lyrics

1. Nothing we could ever do could save us.
Anything we try to prove won't change us.
For by grace and grace alone
you made us yours, O Lord.
Refrain
So we will worship.
So we will praise you.
So we bow down.
So we will shout it loud.
We have been chosen,
for you have spoken.
Nothing could change it,
so we will worship.
2. We could never say enough to thank you.
We could never give enough to repay you.
For you sent your only son
to die for us for love.
Bridge
What else can we do
but sing our praise to you,
fall upon our knees
before the Lord of everything:
you, our strength and song,
you, the holy one?
For by grace and grace alone
you made us yours, O Lord.

This song is really special to me, if not for any other fact than that my husband, Kevin and I wrote it together.

Kevin is a really creative guy, and just because of our schedules, we don't get to write much together. But one particular evening we made a point of it. I asked him what he wanted to write, and he said "a classic praise and worship song" (he's a big Delirious fan). Most people don't know that my husband is a Presbyterian (well, they do now!), so it is extra special because it was an ecumenical effort; one thing we have never disagreed about is our love for Christ. So that's what we wrote: a simple song of worship for the Lord, together. It was awesome.

It may sound odd, but years ago I had a dream that I was sleeping in my dorm and was awakened by a noise outside. I went outside and there were hundreds of people singing a song, kneeling on one knee looking towards the sky. I can only assume it was a dream about the return of Christ. I don't remember the song, unfortunately, but I do remember the feeling. That feeling of extreme peace and unity you get when singing or hearing a song that frees your soul. I wanted Sarah and I to try and write a song that recreated that moment in my dream.
