I love this song. I can picture myself looking at Jesus on the cross, with my eyes closely focused on what he has done for us and what we need to do to here on earth to eventually see him.

This is my favorite Catholic song of all time! It's so powerful! Every single time we sing it at Mass I can feel it in my heart. Trevor is the most amazing Christian musician I have every encountered. This song is a must!

Trevor Thompson truly knows how to reach a person's heart. It's simply beautiful, loving, and spiritual. I could listen to this all day long. "Live. Die. Rise."

Great composition, beautiful feeling...
1. You own my heart. You have my place. I cannot stop to even look and see your face. You see my wounds. They are exposed. They show my past; they show the hurt that no one knows, that no one knows. 2. For you I cry. For you I need. I long for fear and disappointment to be eased. And so I look with eyes to you, and in this sight your love and mercy are my truth. They are my truth. Refrain Eyes to you. Eyes to you. Eyes to you. 3. Be in my heart. Be in my breath. Be in my hands, my feet, my soul. Be in my death. Show me your face in all I see. Open my eyes to see your Spirit; set me free. Come set me free. 4. You own my heart. You have my place. I cannot stop to even look and see your face. Yet I look with eyes to you, and in this sight your love and mercy are my truth. They are my truth.

It’s something you hear at every little league game throughout America, usually from a coach or some parent in the stands when their kid is up to bat, "Keep your eyes on the ball." A term of encouragement to help the batter get out there and do what they need to do for the team. As Catholic Christians, we belong to a team. We’re not in this game alone. In a way, St. Paul tells us to "keep your eye on the ball" when he says "run the race and to keep your eyes on the prize." The prize, in this case, far surpasses the glory of a base hit or home run. The prize is eternal life with a God who loves us in a way that surpasses all understanding. In this great "race" that we run, it's easy to lose focus; to forget the prize; to forget why we’re even in the race in the first place. We need to be reminded to keep our eyes on Jesus. "Eyes To You" is a calling for us to acknowledge our distractions, our fears and our failings and then to look beyond these things and fix our eyes on Jesus. When we do this we begin to see Christ in every facet of our lives. This vision is what changes us. It strengthens our mind and spirit so that we may run the race victoriously. "Eyes to you" refers not only to us, but to God. It is a reminder of His perfect, unending gaze upon all of us. He sees each one of us and never looks away; seeing our goodness and our brokenness, our strengths and our weaknesses. His message and his gift to us is always the same -- unconditional love and divine mercy. - Trevor Thomson
