Description

Chris follows up his debut solo album with this dynamic release. Inspired by the encyclicals of John Paul II on the Eucharist and the rosary, Golden showcases Chris' solid voice, his zeal for Christ and the church and his gift for songwriting. "This project is called 'Golden' for a very specific reason," he writes. "The title song speaks of Christ's literal presence in the Eucharist, His Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity, given to us so truly."

The front man for Scarecrow & Tinmen, Chris sets his powerful, reverent lyrics to music that's reminiscent of the quirky blend of pop, folk and jazz made popular by Dave Matthews Band.

Highlights include "Mary's Son," a song that Chris says is "important to this project. Here is where I am spiritually. If she is good enough for Jesus why isn't she good enough for us? We will never be able to love and honor Mary more than Jesus did. But we could try to love her as much as we can."

Chris' love for Jesus and Mary shines through each of these 12 original tracks. Eminently poetic, fresh and compelling, Golden rises above the din of rehashed worship music to firmly establish Chris as one of our best young Catholic songsmiths.
