Marian antiphon Alma Redemptoris Mater is traditionally sung after night prayer from the beginning of Advent through February 1. Robert Benson has beautifully arranged this ancient chant for SATB choir, piano and cello. In a lovely coupling of the old and the new, Benson begins and ends this piece with a solo cello, layering the voices and instrumentation throughout the piece.
